There are moments in the history of an alumni association that define its legacy, and today, the Federal Government College Warri Class of 2006 has reached one of those defining peaks.
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that, through the collective generosity and unwavering commitment of our members, the FGCW 06 Endowment Fund has officially surpassed its initial milestone of ₦50 Million!
From Vision to Reality
When we first discussed the idea of an Endowment Fund, the goal felt ambitious. But the "Legends" of 2006 have never been ones to shy away from a challenge. Whether you contributed from within Nigeria or from the diaspora, every Naira brought us closer to this moment.
This isn't just a number on a balance sheet; it is a testament to the power of Unity and Service. It proves that when we say "Together we build," we mean it.
Where the Impact Goes
We believe in transparency and purpose. This ₦50 Million milestone is already earmarked for two critical areas that will shape the future of our alma mater:
- Restoring the Cradle of Innovation: The Science Block - The science laboratories at FGC Warri were where many of us first discovered a passion for medicine, engineering, and technology. To ensure current students have that same opportunity, a significant portion of these funds will go directly toward the total renovation of the Science Block. We are talking about modern equipment, safe environments, and a space that inspires the next generation of Nigerian scientists.
- Empowering the Next Generation: Exceptional Student Scholarships - Financial barriers should never stand in the way of brilliance. We are officially establishing a Scholarship Scheme funded by this endowment. These awards will be granted to exceptional students who demonstrate the academic rigor and character that define a true FGCW student, ensuring that the "Legend" legacy continues long after we are gone.
The Journey Continues
While ₦50 Million is a massive achievement, it is only the first milestone. As our fund grows, so does our ability to intervene in more areas of the school’s development and support our own alumni in times of need.
To everyone who has donated, advocated, and cheered us on we thank you. You are the heartbeat of this association.
Together, we build. Together, we give back.
